Hosted by Kirsty van de Geer
A radically fun practice to embody and process stored tension and emotions.
Since training earlier this year with the founder of this practice Satu Tuomela, I have been itching to share, as the practice has a profound effect on the nervous system and the quality of refined awareness and joy.
This is a 90-minute practice of shaking, pilates, yoga, free movement and resourcing.
Anchor into perpetual movement to stretch the border of your capacity to burn up and transmute discomfort of body/mind and liberate yourself through spontaneous movement. This is a work out, to work in!
Date: Saturday, September 7. 8:30 - 10:00AM
Location: Kenko Studios, 40 St Benedicts Street, Eden Terrace, Auckland
Cost: $22.00
A note from Anna:
I’m Kirsty’s biggest fan. I’ll go to anything Kirsty puts on, just because it’s her—I have a deep reverence for her work. Last Saturday, I even put aside my great fear of sober free movement aside to attend a Shake the Dust and I had the best time. Smiling like an idiot and flailing around. Rare for me is it to move freely without feeling self-conscious, and through this guided practice I had the great joy of experiences pockets of freedom.
I ended up going home that day, putting on music, joyously dancing around as I cleaned the house top to bottom, cooking dinner, doing the dishes, folding the washing and still trying to find more jobs to do so I could keep boogie-ing around.
If free movement is your thing, you’ll have a ball here. If free movement totally isn’t your thing, it’s not mine either, but I challenge you to lean in and explore what feels too far away. Kirsty has a gift of supporting you in finding the joy of movement.
